Biography:
Anastasios MOURATIDIS is a Professor Emeritus of Highway Engineering in the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is the author of 100 scientific papers published in Congress Proceedings and Scientific Journals. During his academic career, he has managed more than 40 research projects in construction, assessment and maintenance of road structures and assets. He has been Consultant of Construction Management in the Egnatia Motorway Project (1996-2004), Head of Construction Management (2005-2006), Technical Consultant of the Thessaloniki Metro Project (2008-2010), Chairman and CEO of Egnatia Odos S.A. (2010-2012). Consultant in the Ionia Motorway construction project (2014-2017). Geotechnical Consultant in the E65 Motorway Construction Project (2014-2023) - National Delegate of the SPRINT research project , E.U. DG XIII, (1990-1997), - Member of Expert Groups IR2, IR5, IR7 of OECD/Transport Research (1992-1997), - National Delegate of PIARC Technical Committees 4.5 and D4 (2004-2010) - Member of the ESF/COST research Action 356, Towards the definition of a Sustainable Transport (2007-2009). - Collaborating expert of the Hellenic Institute of Transport in the EU Horizon/ i4Df, Infrastructure for the Future research project (2018-2020). -Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Seminar on Roads, Bridges and Tunnels (2016-2019). -Author of two Highway Engineering Handbooks: Highway Construction (Univ. Studio Press, 2007), Road Asset Management (Univ. Studio Press, 2023). - Engineering Consultant in the PATHE Motorway Rehabilitation Projects (2023) - Engineering Consultant in Motorway Construction Projects.
