Abstract Title: Overall benefits of biochar, produced from agricultural waste, for the farming system

Biography:

Dr. Sara Tahery completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales in 2016. Currently, she works as a Research Fellow and a Lecturer. Her research focuses on developing carbon-based products (known as biochar) from various waste biomass, through sustainable production methods, for multiple applications, including soil amendments and animal feed supplements. She utilizes analytical techniques to characterize the physical, electrochemical and microstructural properties of biochar products before large-scale production and application. Sara has led multiple biochar-based projects since 2016. She has a large number of publications in this field.

Research Interest:

Agricultural waste, Biochar feed supplement, Livestock productivity, Characterization, Soil and plant health.
