Abstract Title: Exploring Waste Theory and Its Poetics Through the Lens of Agnès Varda's The Gleaners and I (2000)

Biography:

Temitope Dorcas Adetoyese earned a double MA in Social Sciences and in European Master in Lexicography from the Université de Lorraine, Nancy, France. She is currently a PhD student in the Comparative Literature program at the University of Texas at Austin, USA. In the fall of 2024, she took a seminar on waste theories and poetics, where she explored materialist and constructivist theories of waste and examined how the practice of “making waste” defines systems, including literary and visual texts. She enjoys conference presentations and cultural encounters through traveling. She speaks Yoruba, English, and German.
